Binary Blade Matches

This match style is loosely based on the historic “Council Challenge” system. Duelists must demonstrate the fundamental skills of a Praxeum duelist, earning 0 or 1 points in each of six category. The two-minute rounds repeat until one of them reaches a total of 13. Duelists are competing against themselves as much as each other.

Categories

- Form: Follow the rules of their chosen lightsaber forms, executing properly controlled strikes and blocks. Read our duelists profiles to see their chosen forms.

- Mentality: Perform within their chosen role-play class, showing aggression (Martyrs/Marauders), strategy (Guardians/Warriors), use of Force Powers (Consulars/Inquisitors), or defensiveness (Sentinels/Assassins)

- Force Powers: Use all their Force Power “wildcards” with strategy and/or creativity. Read our duelists profiles to see each classes’ assigned abilities.

- Showmanship: Entertain the audience through dialogue, flashy moves, athleticism, or crowd engagement. Our audience’s reactions can sway the judges!

- Kills: Complete at least one legal strike or Force power-assisted kill during the round

- Most Kills: Only one duelist can win this point per round

Variations

Duelist’s Choice: The six categories are chosen by the competitors, with one “secret” category each. Duelists can highlight their own abilities, with examples including head strikes, use of props, offensive speed, improv quality, etc.
